Change Your Comcast Business Router Password To Setup New Wireless Contacts

Why is it important to create your own user name and password when you configure your Comcast Business Router? Well for one thing, if you ever forget your username and password it's pretty much game over for your business because Comcast won't be able to provide you with technical support or access to your router's software and programs without having this information first hand. The second thing is there are so many other things to worry about such as getting the right cabling, modems, cable wires, electrical wiring etc. It is always easier to make sure that everything is done right by starting off with a clean slate and then move on to other more complicated parts of the network. We will discuss in a moment how to get the right username and password for your Comcast Business Router. We will also discuss what types of websites you should not visit when you have this modem connected to the network as well as other useful tips for keeping this device secure.

To configure your router, first turn on the modem/router. Then connect a peripheral device to the router with the proper cable. Next, open a web browser on the computer with the appropriate username and password. Go to Comcast Business Router Login page.

Once you have logged in to the router click on the LAN tab. Under the IP Address heading you will see the default IP address you configured earlier. You can change this to whatever you prefer, but for now we will stick with the comcast business router login page. You will need to enter your user name and admin password in this section.

Go to 'Settings' and then click on the button known as the FETCH button. On the 'Settings' tab, click on the radio button marked'reset button'. This will reboot your computer and revert to the default factory settings. Then, you will be prompted to enter your user name and password for the reset process.

Your router will now be ready for both wireless devices and Internet. Turn on the wireless devices and access the Internet. You should be prompted to log in to the Internet. If you are using a default login address, you will be asked to log in as the guest.

If you did not change the administrator password during the factory reset of your computer, you will be prompted to enter it when you logon. Otherwise, you will have to enter it at the wireless devices' setup. There you will see an entry for the WAPPS-enabled wireless devices. Click on the WAPPS tab to access the reset button.

To change the network names, click on the Wireless Network tab. For the Business Router login, click on the Wireless SSID tab. Enter your new network names and the corresponding IP addresses.

You are now ready to connect to the internet. The WAPPS wireless network name is used by the wireless devices to identify themselves with the WAPPS. Your modem will automatically detect the SSID of the connection. This means that changing the default gateway IP address will change the way that your internet connection will behave.

If you did not change the administrator password during the factory reset, log on to the router. Navigate to Setup > Networking and click on the password reset button. When a message appears to verify the new password, click on the Change password option. The new password will appear on the screen. Type in the new password and confirm it to finalize the change in your business login credentials.

Logging in again will display a new login page. Follow the prompts to enter the new password and save it. It is now ready for use after having to reset the router. To test your connection, enable the WEP and set your wireless contacts.

The most convenient method for resetting the router involves using the standard Windows login that you usually use for your other user settings (eg. home user). On the login window, you can type in the current password and click on the Change password option. Use the New password option to create a new username and save it.

When you are done, log in as your regular user. You will receive a warning that your network connection is unstable. Click OK to proceed. Once done, you will see that the default login gateway IP has been changed to your new static IP. The default username and password are also changed to your new password and you are now able to connect to the Internet.
